NYSDOT prepares to plow Syracuse area, deal with huge Tug Hill snow banks

SYRACUSE, N.Y — The NYS Department of Transportation shared details on its plowing operation with CNY Central ahead of the significant snowstorm on Sunday.

NYSDOT region 3 is responsible for state roadways in Onondaga, Oswego, Cayuga, Cortland, Tompkins and Seneca counties, including the City of Syracuse.

The public information officer for NYSDOT region 3, TeNesha Murphy, shared that additional resources from outside areas are not expected to be needed at this point, with over 100 plow trucks already on the roads across the six counties.
