Fire damages home under renovation on Syracuse’s East Side

Syracuse, N.Y. — A fire damaged a home under renovation Sunday night on Syracuse’s East Side, firefighters said.

Around 9:18 p.m., Syracuse firefighters were called to the fire at 328 Bruce St., according to Capt. Erik Caster, a spokesperson for the department. When fire crews arrived, they found flames coming from the first floor of a 2½-story home.

Firefighters searched the home for possible occupants while crews worked to knock down the fire, Caster said. The blaze was found on the first floor and brought under control in 15 minutes. It was fully extinguished in just under an hour, Caster said…
