Entire CNY SPCA board resigns after staff walkout claiming animal neglect

SYRACUSE, B.Y. — The entire CNY SPCA Board resigned on Wednesday.

The mass resignation comes just one day after its employees staged a walkout, alleging widespread neglect and unsafe conditions at the facility.

The resignation is according to an email sent from Gale Rachetta, who’s listed as an interim secretary at the CNY SPCA. An image of the email sent to staff and received by CNY Central is pictured below.

The email said that the resignations come after feedback from staff and volunteers. It said that the board decided to voluntarily resign and support a 30-day transition. Leadership at the CNY SPCA is expected to be “reset” no later than Feb. 28…
