Ex-prison guard sentenced for death of inmate Robert Brooks, but not in jail yet

UTICA, N.Y. — A former Marcy Corrections Officer who pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment for the death of inmate Robert Brooks still remains a free man.

News10NBC’s affiliate in Syracuse reports Michael Fisher was sentenced to six months in jail Friday, but isn’t behind bars just yet. Fisher won’t be in jail until a decision is made on his currently pending appeal.
