Syracuse teen charged in armed robbery attempt in Fairmount Wegmans parking lot

FAIRMOUNT, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A 16-year-old Syracuse male was arrested Wednesday, Feb. 4, after allegedly attempting to rob a 17-year-old with a loaded gun in the Fairmount Wegmans parking lot.

The suspect approached the victim’s car and demanded money while brandishing the gun.

During the incident, the victim remained inside his car with the door locked. When the 17-year-old had the chance, he backed his vehicle out of the parking space and drove to the front of Wegmans, where he called 911 at 8:06 p.m. Police officers arrived at the scene within 3 minutes of receiving the call…
