Upstate N.Y. puppies take over the Puppy Bowl, shedding light on adoptions

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — One of the most thrilling and widely viewed games is making its way to television screens across the nation Sunday, and it’s not the Super Bowl: It’s the Puppy Bowl.

“The Puppy Bowl is particularly probably the largest national platform for rescuing dogs in the whole country,” Mohawk Hudson Humane Society President for Development Gabrielle DeMarco said. “So, we are so excited that there’s a platform not only for rescuing animals, but now for rescuing senior animals. We are so thrilled to be part of that opportunity.”

Going into its 22nd year, the four-hour Puppy Bowl features 150 animals from 72 shelters, and includes 10 dogs from upstate New York…
