Manlius Police arrest man for fraudulent auto sales business

MANLIUS, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — On Feb. 5, Manlius Police arrested a man believed to have been running a fraudulent vehicle sale business.

Ulises Hernandez Jr. was arrested on the following charges, all of which are felonies:

  • Scheme to defraud in the first degree
  • Five counts of grand larceny in the third degree
  • Three counts of grand larceny

The arrest comes after an investigation that began in April 2025, when the Town of Manlius Police Department was made aware that Puma Auto Sales LLC, located at 8477 Poolsbrook Rd. in Kirkville, was conducting business illegitimately.

It was reported that Hernandez Jr. was selling vehicles he listed on Facebook Marketplace at prices lower than normal. He would receive payments from victims via cash, check, Zelle or CashApp. Then he would meet his victims, show them the vehicle, settle on a price, and then either give the vehicle to the victim without a title or registration, or continue to delay the delivery or pick-up of the vehicle for weeks and in some cases, months…
