Syracuse Jazz Fest returning for 40th festival, updates leadership team

The Syracuse International Jazz Festival is expanding its leadership team ahead of the festival’s 40th edition.

Syracuse Jazz Fest announced Tuesday that Stacey Waterman, director of operations, will step into “a more active role overseeing day‑to‑day festival management and guiding the event’s ongoing development.“ The festival also named Marissa Greenlar as director of marketing and Carrie Wojtaszek as director of sponsorship.

Jazz Fest founder Frank Malfitano will continue as the festival’s executive director. Malfitano, 80, said he will step back from year-round operational demands and focus on guiding the festival through its “next chapter,” while continue to contribute creatively towards its future direction…
