SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A woman who admitted to murdering her 5-year-old daughter learned her fate Wednesday morning.
A judge sentenced Latasha Mott to spend 23 years to life in state prison after pleading guilty to intentionally causing the death of her 5-year-old daughter, Nefertiti Harris, by beating her. The 31-year-old took Judge Matthew Doran’s plea offer in exchange for pleading guilty to murdering her daughter and hiding her body in a field in Syracuse’s Salt Springs neighborhood in 2024.
