Onondaga County will fine businesses who don’t follow new biometric tech law

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Onondaga County is considering a new law to mandate businesses gathering biometric data, give notice to customers.

The I-Team has learned details of what the county will require of businesses who use technology to gather our personal biometric identifying information.

The law will require a “clear and conspicuous” sign near all entrances to a commercial business using biometric technology. So, you’ll see them in supermarkets, home improvement stores and other retail operations…
