Ventura Foods LLC initiated a voluntary recall involving 22,010 cases of creamy peanut butter products distributed across 40 states, according to the US Food and Drug Administration.
The recall was first initiated on Wednesday, April 30, and was classified as a Class II recall on Thursday, Feb. 12, according to the US Food and Drug Administration. A Class II recall means use of the product could cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences.
The issue was discovered when blue plastic pieces were found in a production filter. The products were distributed in:
