Clay, N.Y. — Contractors for Micron Technology have cut down nearly 300 acres of trees since work started four weeks ago, according to reports filed with the town.
As of Thursday, Micron had cleared trees from 284 acres, or 86%, of the 330 acres to be cleared by March 31. No trees can be cut between April 1 and Oct. 31 because two species of endangered bats roost there in the warmer months.
