Onondaga County law would prevent stores from secretly scanning your face, but there’s a hitch

Onondaga County legislators are trying to craft a local law that would require most businesses to notify the public if they are collecting biometric data such as face scans from their customers.

But it’s not clear who would enforce the law if it gets passed, so the legislation is on hold at least until the legislature’s April session.
