A winter weather advisory remains in effect for portions of Central New York through Saturday morning as a complex storm system brings mixed precipitation to the region.
The National Weather Service warns that freezing rain is most likely to the east of Syracuse, where up to a quarter inch of ice accumulation is possible on higher terrain. Areas near Utica and Rome face marginal conditions, with temperatures hovering right around freezing, creating potential for intermittent freezing drizzle or light freezing rain between heavier precipitation bands.
