Syracuse, N.Y. — People in Central New York are lining up by the hundreds to enroll in a 12-week certification course that pays them to learn skills that can lead to entry-level jobs in advanced manufacturing and construction.
This week, 150 people started the first set of classes as part of ON-RAMP, the state’s new program that aims to create a rapid training-to-work pipeline as companies like Micron Technology and other tech manufacturers arrive and expand.
