The National Weather Service has issued winter weather advisories for Madison, Chenango, and Broome Counties in effect 1PM Sunday through 7PM Monday.
Wind gusts ranging between 25-35mph and periods of moderate to brief heavy snow will make travel difficult at times late tonight and especially Monday southeast of Syracuse. The pink shaded counties in the Catskills are winter storm warnings as conditions will rapidly deteriorate the further southeast you get.
Scattered snow showers will mix with periods of rain today in Syracuse as temperatures this afternoon push above freezing for lower elevation cities. This will have a big impact on our snowfall totals. Below is the futurecast for 3PM Sunday, if you look closely you can see this transition of precipitation types.
