Winter Storm Watch Issued: See Capital Region Snowfall Prediction

Winter is putting forth its best effort this year, with a string of snowstorms continuing into the work week.

After several inches fell in the Capital Region Friday into Saturday, a nor’easter barreling up the coast is now expected to bring some significant snow to parts of the Capital Region.

Winter Storm Watch Issued For Capital Region: How Much Snow Will We Get?

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the following areas:

  • Eastern Rensselaer County
  • Schoharie County
  • Western Schenectady County
  • Western Albany County
  • Bennington & Windham Counties in Vermont

The watch is in effect from Sunday afternoon through Monday evening. Heavy snow is possible for these areas, with wind gusts up to 40 mph. 4 to 10 inches of accumulation is expected. NWS says the Monday morning and evening commutes could be affected.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Eastern Schenectady County, Southern Saratoga County, and Western Rensselaer County, with 3 to 7 inches of snow expected in these areas…
