SAMMYS Director Liz Nowak is stepping down from her position after 35 years with the Syracuse Area Music Awards.
Nowak announced Friday that the 2026 SAMMYS Hall of Fame and Awards Show, scheduled for March 5 and March 6, will be her last as director of the annual awards show.
Nowak is an original Syracuse Area Music Awards board member who was part of the SAMMYS’ original planning stages in 1991, according to a press release. She was a part of the first Syracuse Area Music Awards show in 1993 and helped keep it going for more than three decades…
