Cazenovia Man Pleads Guilty to $686K Wire Fraud and Identity Theft

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — A Cazenovia man admitted to taking hundreds of thousands of dollars from clients while working as a financial advisor in the Syracuse area.

According to the United State Department of Justice-Northern District of New York, Dean Dellas, 41, pled guilty on Feb. 26, to wire fraud and aggravated identity theft.

Dellas admitted that from at least June 2021 through November 2023, he convinced clients to sign paperwork allowing him to take excessive advisor fees and gain trading and withdrawal authority over their investment accounts…
