EAST SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Advocates and families gathered in East Syracuse to call on state leaders to increase funding for disability services.
Supporters with Access CNY and the Arc of Onondaga held an “Invest in Us” rally, urging lawmakers to boost funding in the upcoming New York State Budget.
“The governor has proposed a 1.7% funding increase for us,” said CEO of Access CNY Paul Josslyn. “We’ve asked for 2.7%, which will really just keep us at the rate of inflation over last year and that’s really important because it’s support for us to pay our direct support professionals what they deserve to do a very difficult job.”…
