Four temporarily displaced following kitchen fire in Syracuse

Syracuse, N.Y. ― Four people have been displaced after a kitchen fire caused damage to a multi-family home in Syracuse’s Court-Woodlawn neighborhood.

The two residents in the downstairs unit and the two in the upstairs unit will be temporarily displaced as the building will need to be treated for smoke, fire, and water damage, according to Syracuse District Fire Chief, Jeremy Coughlin. He did not think the building was a total loss.

The fire originated in the kitchen of the unit on the second floor, Coughlin said. Investigators were on scene, but the source of the fire has not yet been determined…
