Body found in Clay house fire identified as subject of public safety alert

CLAY, N.Y. — The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that the body found in a Clay house fire was Mark Harrington, 57.

The body was found on Feb. 27 after firefighters put out the fire on Dampier Circle. At the time, investigators were unable to confirm the identity of the body due to how “badly” the house was burned. The body was sent to the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The sheriff’s office did not reveal how Harrington died…
