Cicero community rallies to support CNS graduate awaiting kidney transplant

CICERO, N.Y. — Hundreds of people gathered Saturday at the Cicero American Legion to support an 18-year-old Cicero-North Syracuse graduate whose life changed just weeks before she was set to begin college.

Zoe, a recent CNS graduate, had been preparing to start her freshman year at the Rochester Institute of Technology on scholarship. But the week she was supposed to begin classes, a routine doctor’s visit led to devastating news.

“She went in for a routine doctor’s visit and we found her bloodwork skewed and then from there it snowballed and we had to take her to the hospital and here we are today,” said Zoe’s mother, Kate Ireland…
