LIVERPOOL, N.Y. — A student at Liverpool Elementary School brought a Byrna pepper ball to school and accidentally released its contents into the air during class on Tuesday morning.
According to the Liverpool Central School District, the student, whose age was not disclosed, believed it was a toy.
The pepper ball is inserted into a device that mimics a firearm, but is not one. The tool is a non-lethal self-defense device. The Byrna website specifically states that the weapon is not a toy…
