Winter storm watch: 7 inches of snow could land in parts of Central NY just days after record-breaking warmth

A winter storm watch has been issued for parts of Central New York from Friday morning through Saturday afternoon as a strong weather system threatens to bring heavy snow to higher elevations of the Eastern Lake Ontario region.

Oswego, Jefferson and Lewis counties could see total snow accumulations of 7 inches or more, according to the watch. Lower elevations are expected to receive lower amounts. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph during the event.

Areas closer to Syracuse could also see snow, with 1 to 3 inches possible. The Southern Tug Hill region in northern Oneida County has the best chance for significant accumulation…
