Northern New York Weather: 6–12 Inches of Lake-Effect Snow Could Shut Down Travel Through 8 a.m. Wednesday

Oswego, New York – Lake-effect snow bands off Lake Ontario are expected to hammer northern New York beginning Monday night, with up to a foot of snow possible and strong winds creating dangerous travel conditions through midweek.

According to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, a Winter Weather Advisory begins at 8 p.m. Monday for Oswego, Jefferson, and Lewis counties as intense lake-effect snow develops. The advisory lasts until 8 p.m. Tuesday for Jefferson and Lewis counties and until 8 a.m. Wednesday for Oswego County
