Syracuse driver charged with manslaughter almost 6 years after hit-and-run

Syracuse, N.Y. — A Syracuse man has now been charged with manslaughter after a 24-year-old died nearly six years after being critically injured in a hit-and-run crash on the city’s East Side.

Nahgene “Chewy” Jevon Wright died Dec. 28, 2025 from complications linked to injuries he suffered in the April 23, 2020, crash, according to Charles Garland, owner of Garland Brothers Funeral Home.

Prince Rilley, 27, was charged Tuesday with second-degree manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident, according to Onondaga County arrest records…
