Salina, N.Y. – A blood laboratory in Salina has closed and 45 employees were laid off after the facility’s parent company was acquired by a rival lab.
The Laboratory Alliance of Central New York blood processing center at 113 Innovation Lane in Electronics Park closed March 16, resulting in the layoffs, according to a state employment notice.
The closing comes five months after Labcorp, a global laboratory services firm with operations in Syracuse, announced it had signed an agreement to acquire select assets of Laboratory Alliance. The transaction took effect this month…
