Syracuse, N.Y. — Finding value on a restaurant menu in 2026 is a lot like your search for the mysteriously missing sock that didn’t emerge from your clothes dryer. You know it’s out there somewhere, but you often resign yourself to it being gone forever. Sometimes, though, it turns up. The sock slipped underneath it or between the wall and the dryer.
We’ve found success in stretching our restaurant dollar at neighborhood bars and grills and struck gold again at Lannie’s Bar and Restaurant on Onondaga Hill. Our recent Saturday evening visit saw us seated immediately in the cozy upstairs dining room, away from the noisy first-floor tavern where we would spend time after dinner.
