NY rejects Billue’s plea to stay on Syracuse school board amid appeal. What now?

New York’s top education official denied Twiggy Billue’s effort to remain on the Syracuse school board while the state decides whether she was wrongfully removed.

The school board voted unanimously in January to remove Billue for violating the district’s visitor and ethics policies. Billue’s lawyers appealed that removal with the state. They asked the education commissioner to let Billue keep her seat while weighing the appeal.
