NY weather: Weather alert for part of New York until 2 a.m. Monday

The National Weather Service released a special weather statement at 10:01 p.m. on Sunday until Monday at 2 a.m. for Oneida, Yates, Seneca, Cayuga, Onondaga, Steuben, Schuyler, Tompkins, Madison and Cortland counties.

“Temperatures are falling into the lower 30s as cooler air overspreads the area, with many roadways still wet. Spotty freezing drizzle will also be possible as readings dip some more in the coming hours. Travelers should exercise caution for potential patchy ice, especially in higher elevations, as well as exposed surfaces like bridges and overpasses,” according to the weather service.
