Liverpool school district faces a budget gap; layoffs are coming

Liverpool, N.Y. — The Liverpool Central School District is facing a $17 million budget gap, and officials are looking at layoffs.

The district needs to cut 80 to 85 positions districtwide, Superintendent Richard Chapman told syracuse.com | The Post-Standard Monday. The district employs 1,390 people, so the reductions would be about 6% of the staff.
