UTICA, N.Y. — The trial of former Mid-State Correctional Facility officer Jonah Levi began with opening statements and the start of witness testimony in the case involving the beating death of inmate Messiah Nantwi.
Levi is the first of three corrections officers to go to trial on charges connected to Nantwi’s death at the Mid-State Correctional Facility in March.
