Syracuse officials unveil apartments for those whose homes undergo lead abatement

Syracuse Mayor Sharon Owens and Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon on Tuesday unveiled their newest lead-safe initiative in the city of Syracuse.

Members of the Syracuse community came out for a press conference on Tuesday afternoon, where four new lead-safe apartments were unveiled.

The purpose of the apartments is to give Syracuse residents a temporary place to stay while their homes undergo lead abatement — something the city has been striving to do at homes throughout the city for years…
