Fire in multifamily home in Syracuse shuts down two streets, eight displaced

Syracuse, N.Y. ― A fire in a multi-family home in Syracuse Monday evening displaced several people and closed two Syracuse streets.

At least eight people have been displaced from 710 Catherine St., but there could be more, according to Capt. Erik Caster, a spokesperson for the Syracuse Fire Department.

There were at least two units in the home, Caster said, all filled. All units will have utilities cut and residents will likely be displaced, Caster said. No firefighters or residents were hurt in the blaze…
