Syracuse solar program saves on bills, no home install

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — As energy costs continue to climb across the state, the City of Syracuse is partnering with EnergySmart CNY and Solar Simplified to introduce a new program, Syracuse Community Solar.

The program is aimed at helping residents save on their electric bills. It also gives people the opportunity to benefit from solar energy without installing panels at home.

The City’s Sustainability Planner, Karina Freeland, said households can expect to save around 10% on their electric bill, with even higher savings (20%) for income-qualified participants…
