A motorcyclist was killed Thursday evening after colliding with a tow truck on State Route 7 at 204th Street East in Spanaway, a crash that shut down the highway in both directions and turned the evening commute into a slow crawl around the scene.
According to The News Tribune, State Trooper Kameron Watts said the collision involved a tow truck and a motorcycle, and the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The outlet reported that the tow truck driver was not injured and that drivers resorted to using the shoulders to squeeze past the crash site.
Trooper Watts later shared initial details on the Washington State Patrol public-information account on X, identifying the crash location and timing and noting that WSP PIO on X had alerted that WSDOT crews would be brought in to help redirect traffic while investigators worked the scene.
