“Circumstances Beyond Our Control.” Auburn’s Rail Hop’n Brewing is Closing

Rail Hop’n Brewing is closing at the end of June. The owners, Kristi and Billy Jack, say a major force in reaching the decision involved circumstances beyond their control. Those circumstances involve ongoing construction around the business, permitting woes, and a landlord who decided to sell the building. For a business that has already seen its share of relocation, it seems that was the last straw. The final day of operations is set for Tuesday, June 30th.

The closure ends a 15-year run in Auburn, during which the brewery operated at three different locations, starting in a garage all those years ago. Along the way, Rail Hop’n Brewing created a friendly and convivial atmosphere that the local community will miss greatly. The outpouring on social media in response to the announcement has been huge and heartfelt.

On social media, Rail Hop’n shared the following statement: “This is a letter we never imagined we would have to write, and one that comes with tremendous sadness. At the same time, it is filled with overwhelming gratitude for the people who made this journey so special.”…
