Pierce County invests $300K to expand biometric gun lockbox distribution, education

PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — Pierce County is putting $300,000 toward expanding a public health effort aimed at preventing gun violence by getting more firearm lockboxes into residents’ hands and increasing education about safe storage.

County Executive Ryan Mello announced the investment during a press event at the Eastside Family Resource Center in Tacoma during Gun Violence Awareness Month.
