Overflo Potato is preparing to open its first brick-and-mortar restaurant at 2710 6th Ave. in Tacoma, taking over the former Pizza Time Pub space, according to The News Tribune. The family-owned concept is targeting an August grand opening.
Owners Destiny and Carwin Hawkins launched Overflo Potato nearly three years ago as a street-food business.
“The idea stems from Carwin’s roots in New Orleans, where loaded baked potatoes were his favorite lunch,” Destiny Hawkins told What Now Seattle. “After he moved to Washington in 2008 to be with me, we decided to combine our experiences to create something unique. By blending his Southern flavors with my Pacific Northwest roots, Overflo Potato was born.”…
