PUYALLUP, Wash. — Washington State transportation officials broke ground Wednesday on the final construction phase of the State Route 167 Completion Project, marking the beginning of the last segment of a long-planned highway connection intended to improve freight movement and commuter travel in Pierce County.
The groundbreaking ceremony marks the start of Stage 2b, the fourth and final phase of the SR 167 Completion Project, part of the Washington State Department of Transportation’s Puget Sound Gateway Program.
