Beer Star Tacoma, a family-friendly taproom with a spacious patio, has closed after almost eight years on Sixth Ave and Stevens. In its wake, The Chicken Supply, which has been slinging excellent Filipino-style fried chicken from a truck in the parking lot since last fall, will recalibrate as the owners search for a new home in the area.
Beer Star officially closed on Sunday, July 24. The owners dissolved the business that day with the state, according to business filings, and it appears that staff and the food truck were informed by Wednesday. Lately the taproom was closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
A shutter seemed inevitable in recent months.
