This weekend marks the last of the “major” construction for an I-5 rebuild near Joint Base Lewis-McChord, state highway officials say.
The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) said in a statement Thursday that the upcoming lane reduction for asphalt grinding, paving and striping “largely closes out” construction on I-5 near DuPont and the base.
The southbound stretch of highway will be reduced to three lanes between 9 p.m Friday, Aug. 28 and 4:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 31 while crews reroute drainages, the department said. The far-left lane and the HOV lane will be closed…
