An updated traffic impact analysis for the proposed Chick-fil-A near Point Fosdick Drive and Olympic Drive sheds light on whether the drive-thru restaurant will worsen traffic in the busy commercial area.
Posts on Gig Harbor community Facebook pages generated more than 100 comments last week, many opposing the new location because of the traffic it could generate. Traffic mitigation for any new development near the Point Fosdick/Olympic Drive intersection is a concern not just among drivers, but for the city as well, with the intersection already known for heavy backups at times amid the cluster of retail centers, banks, fuel stations, and fast-food sites.
