In anticipation of the upcoming holiday season, the United Way of Pierce County is now accepting donations for its Everything But the Turkey food drive.
Community members are asked to drop off side-dish staples and culturally diverse food items for the UWPC to distribute to community members. Donations are being taken through Nov. 20.
“Food is more than nourishment — it’s connection, tradition, and hope,” Dona Ponepinto, president and CEO of the UWPC, said in a statement. “When we give, we’re not only filling cupboards, we’re strengthening our community and addressing the root causes of inequality.”…
