A Washington State man was jailed following an alleged resisting and escape incident on Monday. A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 11:30 a.m. a deputy attempted to stop a man for disorderly conduct and offensive littering in the 500 block of John Long Road at Rice Hill. 32-year old Stephen Nelson from Kent reportedly began to run away from the deputy and was told he was under arrest. Another deputy chased Nelson on foot, while the first deputy chased the man in his patrol vehicle. The first deputy followed Nelson to a business across the street and exited his vehicle.
