A 12-year-old girl was hospitalized after a vehicle struck her in Tacoma on Wednesday night, police say.
Officers were dispatched around 8:40 p.m. to the 6800 block of South K Street after a mother and her daughter were stepping outside their car when a man got inside in an alleged attempt to steal the car. As the man drove off, he struck the girl, Tacoma Police Department spokeswoman officer Shelbie Boyd told The News Tribune.
The girl was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Police located the car a short time later and a pursuit began, Boyd said. Police stopped the car and arrested the man for suspicion of first-degree robbery, possession of a stolen vehicle, eluding and hit and run.
