Thurston County Sheriff’s Office celebrates two new promotions, detective hires

The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office rang in the new year Thursday by celebrating two upcoming promotions within the sheriff’s office, as well as a handful of new detectives.

As of Thursday, Jan. 2, Corrections Deputy Taylor Hendershot and Patrol Deputy Levi Locken had been promoted to the rank of sergeant.

“Both of these sergeants have demonstrated exemplary work at TCSO and we are excited to move them into formal leadership roles,” the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post on Thursday.

The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office has also begun backfilling its vacant detective positions.

“Historically these roles have remained vacant to keep as many working patrol deputies as possible, but as staffing improves the positions are now being filled to address caseload,” the sheriff’s office stated.
