Man jumps into Green River while trying to escape Tukwila police

TUKWILA, Wash. — It took a helicopter, drone, firefighters, a K-9 unit, and officers to take a man who fled into the Green River into custody on Thursday.

At 2:15 p.m., officers spotted a felon with an escape warrant related to a second-degree assault charge. When police tried to talk to the suspect, a transient man from Tacoma, he fled into the river near Interstate 405.

Though officers threw him floating devices, the man pushed them away…
