TACOMA, Wash. — As the calendar approaches a nationwide day to honor shelter animals, the Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County is putting out an urgent call for help.
The shelter is asking community members to open their homes to dogs in need of temporary care as it prepares to renovate a critical section of its facility.
